I had a very lazy weekend and did not crochet anything, but now I am feeling withdrawals....you know that feeling you get when you need to have a hook and some yarn in your hands??  Or am I the only one suffering from this addiction??  :)
Anyway, I will get back to work this evening.  I have been invited to show some of my work at a church function.  But the sad thing is that I do not still have a name for my crochet business....

I am sharing a pic of one of my young customers wearing my multicolored slouch hat.

Enjoy your day....D

Some of my completed projects...

Here are some of my completed projects- my slouch hats and a couple of scarves.  I have more completed projects and far too many WIPS !!
However I love crocheting. When I have a stressful day, picking up my hook and yarn relaxes me. So if I never have a successful crochet business, I am at least happy that I am able to do it.
Enjoy your day!!

Today I start dedicating more time to my craft. I will be stealing time to crochet...at work, at home and wherever.  I realize I can not get anything done by just talking about it, so I am getting to work on what I love.
I am still working on my friends spa cloths, but I will also be working on my slouch hats as well. I will also be posting my finished projects so you won't think that I am just talking ( blogging) to hear myself talk (blog).
Wish me luck...that is if anyone out there is reading this...

so many projects, so little time HELP!!!!

My friend has asked me to make spa cloths for her. She is going to give them as gifts at Christmas.  When I asked what colors, she told me she liked earth tones. She then said that she would get the yarn, which I was happy about since I was a little strapped at the time.  She called me later in the day and said she had 14 balls of Sugar and Cream in various earth tones.  I could hardly wait to get to her house and get started.  I love making these because they are very portable. However altogether I will be making 56 spa cloths.
My problem is I have so many other projects I want to do!!  My slouch hats, I need to piece together a baby blanket  I have been holding on to forever, not to mention my multicolored granny squares and my crocheted beaded socks!!
Tell me my new friends, how do you organize your projects and when do you find the time??  Help me......

My latest crochet projects

I am currently working on several things....dishcloths ( easy to do), my slouch hats and also thinking of going back to my old staple, crochet socks for girls, which is actually crocheted beading around the sock edges.  I called this first crochet venture " Sassy Socks" and they sold quite well at the preschool I was working at in Chicago.
I am really in need of extra income and while I don't think crocheting is going to be the answer, it (crocheting) does relax me and allows me time to think over my problems.
I don't have an audience, so I can pretty much use this blog and think. I will post some of my projects as I complete them.  Please feel free to comment.

My love for crochet

So I love to crochet!!  I am great at making afghans, hats and scarves. I love making granny squares!! My current projects include slouch hats, which is very popular for my friends with dreadlocks and braids, I am attempting to learn how to crochet earrings as well.
There is so much to crochet and so little time to do it with having a fulltime job. But at the end of a busy day, I enjoy picking up my hooks and creating beautiful things.
I will post pictures of my work soon and also will have links from some of the patterns. ( I am not creative enough to make my own patterns yet).
I would love to be able to sell my work and need to come up with my " hooker" name.  Any suggestions??

Sistas

While driving home from work yesterday I started thinking about friends.  Some people have best friends for life, some don't.  I do have friends, but I would like more positive people in my life.  I want to have a girlfriend that will listen to my rants and I will listen to hers. I want a friend that I can share secrets with and know that I will not be judged nor will I judge hers.
I thought about creating a new circle called Sistahood.  Sista means sister and a sista  can be any female that wants to create a bond with this community.  I thought how cool it would be to have sistas from all walks of life that could share their life stories.  Sistas that would stand by you when you are down and celebrate you when you are up.
And although no one will probably read this, I think this is a good idea, what do you think?

June 10, 2013

Hi Everyone
I have been in a melancholy mood today. I am neither happy or sad, just ho-hum.  I have been working on a few crochet projects.  One being my crocheted slouch hats and also I have been making granny squares from my scraps.
The weekend was pretty quiet at home.  I got some housework done and also attended church. I have been working on my Avon business and although I am not getting rich from selling, I still love it.  I guess because receiving the Avon boxes is just like getting presents, although they are not all for me. :)
Today I want to talk about happiness.  What is it exactly?  Is it when you accomplish your goals? Is it when you find that special someone?
I try to find happiness in the small things, like the smell of earth when it is just hit by rain or even just coming home from work and seeing my honey and my dog Belvedere. But I think I am missing something, because otherwise why do I feel unhappy most of the time?
